Temperatures will be off the charts June 25 as Downtown Tempe celebrates LGBTQI+ Pride Month as part of its popular Park After Dark summer event series hosted under the green canopies of cool shade trees at 6th Street Park from 7 to 10 p.m.

During the free event, attendees will have a chance to take in live music by DJ CHKLZ, outdoor entertainment, yard games and free table-top game rentals, and a 21 and over beer and wine garden from Pedal Haus Craft Beer & Wine. The event's highlight includes a Drag Show at 8:00 p.m., hosted by GLOW Shots & Cocktails, which features the Queens Sayyora and Te DeMornay, and Dannilicous. Pride roses and Tempe Love stickers will also be given out to attendees while supplies last.

Park After Dark continues its themed celebrations every second and fourth Saturday of every month through Sept. 24 and includes a rotating lineup of live entertainment, outdoor games, and beer and wine vendors. The event is all ages and dog friendly.

Throughout the series, attendees can take advantage of the abundance of food and drink options in Downtown Tempe, with 14 options less than a 5-minute walk from 6th Street Park. Guests can order food online and pick it up or have it delivered directly to the park for a nominal fee. A full list of food options is available online.

6th Street Park is located at 24 E. 6th Street, south of 5th Street, between Mill and Forest Avenues.

“Tempe has a long history of being a diverse and welcoming community,” said Kate Borders, Executive Director of the Downtown Tempe Authority, in a statement. “As one of Arizona's leading cities when it comes to inclusive policies and ensuring all individuals receive equal treatment, we are proud to be bringing people together to celebrate Pride Month with lively entertainment while supporting local merchants and showcasing Downtown Tempe as a terrific destination.”
