Bicyclist dies in hit-and-run, Tempe police seek help finding SUV, driver

Tempe police are looking for the driver of a Toyota 4Runner who hit and killed a bicyclist Thursday night at East University Drive near South Perry Lane.
The hit-and-run happened about 9:45 p.m. Aug. 25 when a woman was struck by the vehicle, which was traveling northbound across University Drive, police said.
The driver of the vehicle fled before police arrived.
The woman was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The vehicle is described as a dark 1999-2002 Toyota 4Runner that, police said, likely has damage to the front bumper, mainly on the passenger side. Police said the front headlight assembly also is likely damaged.
