WHAM Art Center, 16560 N. Dysart Road, will host:

• Photography 101 is from 10 a.m. to noon April 17. This is a beginner class for those with a digital camera that you don’t know how to operate it. Learn what software can be used for improving your pictures. Free for members, $10 for non-members.

• “Frit Painting,” also known as “powder painting,” is a little known glass technique where the artist uses powdered glass (called “frit”) of many colors to create images which are then kiln-fired.

Learn about it during this course from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 24. Students will produce an 6-by-12-design on a white glass background. Tuition is $50, and included all glass and supplies.

• City Scape (Scratch Art w/Pastels) is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 24. Create a "scratch art" masterpiece with Colene Clark in this creative way to paint using pastels, acylics and specialty tools like exacto knives and various scratch art tools.

Cost is $35 per class. Supplies available for $5 a kit, and students are welcome to bring own supplies.

• The next kids painting and drawing class is Lady Bug - acrylic painting from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 27.

These classes are designed to help create art in children’s development across many domains, physical, social, cognitive, emotional, imagination and experimentation development.
