Celebrating the close of a successful 20th season, the Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts welcomes the United States Air Force’s Travis Brass Quintet for a complimentary concert event 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at 1090 S. Vulture Mine Road.

This free performance features a brass quintet consisting of two trumpets, a horn, a euphonium and a tuba from the USAF Band of the Golden West stationed at Travis Air Force Base in California.

The USAF Band of the Golden West includes several ensembles, such as the larger 50-piece concert band that performed at the Webb Center in 2016 and the 18-piece jazz ensemble that performed there in 2019. With a long history dating back to 1941, the current Band of the Golden West is a descendant of two different Air Force Bands: the 15th Air Force Band and the North American Air Defense Command Band.

Playing a variety of styles, including marches, jazz, ragtime, classical and popular music of today, the members of the USAF Band of the Golden West are all professional Air Force musicians working in support of Air Force and Air Mobility Command official military recruiting and community relations objectives. During this concert program at the Webb Center, the Travis Brass Quintet will play selections of classical, jazz and patriotic music, as well as medleys easily recognized by audience members of all ages.

This special performance by the Travis Brass Quintet is free to attend as a part of the Webb Center’s continuing mission to present the community of Wickenburg with culturally diverse, live performing arts and educational experiences. In September 2021, the theater opened the 2021-22 season with a public performance from Indigenous-led dance company, Red Sky Performance. The dance company spent two weeks participating in the theatre’s nationally recognized “Made in Wickenburg” artist residency program, which concluded with a free public performance of their repertory piece, “Trace.”

Ticket reservations are recommended for the Travis Brass Quintet concert to guarantee seating. They are available at dewpac.org or by calling the Webb Center box office at 928-684-6624.

Visit dewpac.org for the theater’s current COVID-19 entrance policy.
