With baseball season around the corner, the Surprise Arts and Cultural Advisory Commission has an art gallery in City Hall, 16000 Civic Center Plaza, devoted to the national pastime.
The exhibit runs through Thursday, April 23, and features a reception open to the public 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 12.
Among the pieces on display is a 1927 New York Yankees warm-up jacket, next to a photo of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig wearing theirs that year. The show includes other signed items and memorabilia.
The Cactus League season opens at Surprise Stadium, 15850 N. Bullard Ave., with 1:05 p.m. first pitch when the Kansas City Royals take on the Los Angeles Dodgers.
