Surprise announced the return of the annual Surprise Fiesta Grande in person.

This year’s celebration will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Villanueva Recreation Complex, 15660 N. Hollyhock St., in the Grand Avenue corridor.

The Surprise Fiesta Grande street festival celebrates the city’s cultural heritage and features mariachi music, a piñata plaza, games, food, music, dancing, kids’ zone, classic car show, live entertainment and more.

It was held online only last year because of COVID-19.

The event offers promotional opportunities for interested businesses and organizations, as well as nonprofit organizations.

The booth fee is $150 for nonprofit organizations and $500 for all others. The booth includes a 10-by-10-foot vendor tent, a table and two chairs. Note that space is limited.

The city is also accepting Classic Car Show entries in-person at the Parks and Recreation Office, 15960 N. Bullard Ave. and online.

There is a $20 pre-event registration fee, which includes a T-shirt, dash plaque and goody bag.

Car show entry forms and vendor booth applications are available at surpriseaz.gov/fiestagrande.
