Surprise Expo serves as link to local social services

The city leads the Surprise Care & Share Expo: Creating Connections to Community Services from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 in the City Hall Courtyard, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza.

The expo is a free event to help create connections to human service organizations, health resources and medical checks. Services and activities on site include:

• Food pantry.
• Pet wellness services and supplies provided by Chance Shelter (dogs & cats only).
• Dental screenings and fluoride varnishing for kids aged 0-5 and expectant mothers, provided by First Teeth First.
• Health screenings.
• Utility assistance for Surprise and El Mirage residents.
• Veteran and disability services information.
• Kids’ Zone with activities.
• Free lunch (while it lasts).
• Raffle prizes.

This event is hosted by the city of Surprise Veterans, Disability and Human Services Commission and presented by First Things First and Health Choice Arizona. Visit surpriseaz.gov/CareShareExpo.
