Oct. 27 last day to send them back

Posted

Surprise early voters only have a few days left to mail back ballots before the deadline.

Tuesday, Oct. 27, is the final day for the postal service to get the ballots to Maricopa County election officials before Election Day.

That means voters who miss the deadline will want to bring their ballots into one of four designated places in Surprise in order to be counted for the Nov. 3 election.

The city of Surprise has three designated election Vote Centers to vote and drop off ballots and a fourth dropoff-only location.

The Surprise City Hall Community Room, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza; Happy Trails Resort Community Center, 17200 W. Bell Road; and Spirit of Grace Lutheran Church, 15820 W. Clearview Blvd., are three places residents can vote and drop off ballots on select days through Election Day.

Hours at Surprise City Hall are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. through Saturday, Oct. 31, except for Sunday, Oct. 25, which will be closed.

City Hall polls will also be open from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2. On election day, voters can stop by between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.

For voting at Happy Trails, voters will need to go between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. through Oct. 30, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 2 and 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 3.

Spirit of Grace will be open for voting from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 2 and 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 3.

Surprise Stadium, 15930 N. Bullard Ave., is a local location with a dropoff box only.

It will be available in the southeast corner of the stadium’s parking lot Saturday, Oct. 31 through Election Day. The box will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 31; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 1, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 2 and 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election day.
