Sunflower RV Resort donates to Valley View Community Food Bank
DONATION
Posted
In the past five years, Sunflower Food for Kidz has packaged 561,000 meals for the Valley View Food Bank.
Because of the COVID pandemic, the sixth annual event had to be cancelled this year. Knowing the need was greater than ever, Food for Kidz held a fundraiser and the residents of Sunflower RV Resort in Surprise stepped up to help the Food Bank.
On March 9, Jessie Ramirez, founder of the Valley View Community Food Bank, was surprised with a check for $20,610.
The Valley View Food Bank is celebrating its 14th year this month.
“Sunflower Resort provided the first funds when we started in 2007 and they continue to help us in many ways,” stated Mr. Ramirez. “The people who live at Sunflower are amazing. Now with the pandemic, we are serving up to 450 people every day. Every single penny donated is used to buy food to make a good healthy food box for all those in need.”
