Storm spotter webinar coming Nov. 10

Residents interested in learning how to properly identify and report significant weather phenomena can attend a training webinar from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10.
The National Weather Service is presenting the class to prepare volunteer storm spotters to identify the development stages of severe thunderstorms, as well as downbursts, desert flash flooding and tornadoes.
The NWS uses the information in severe weather warnings and statements, which ultimately saves lives and protects property.
Anyone can be a spotter and we encourage those who like to pay attention to the weather to become involved. Volunteers should be community-minded adults, who understand they play an essential role in providing storm information to the NWS.
