No changes to Dysart district's mask requirements

Dysart Unified School District is keeping its current COVID mitigation protocols in place.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Katherine Cooper ruled Sept. 27 that the state of Arizona prohibiting mask mandates was unconstitutional, and that allows public schools to require masks.

But Renee Ryon, DUSD director of communications and public relations, said DUSD does not anticipate a change at this time.

As of Sept. 24, the DUSD active COVID cases website, dysart.org/cases, reported 67 active cases district wide. The site is updated by the end of the day each Tuesday and Friday.

Once the positive cases complete the 10-day isolation period, they are removed from the count and those cases in the last day of isolation on the date of the update are not included.

Immediate communication to direct contacts happen as soon as DUSD officials are made aware and the information is verified.

Personal protective equipment and cleaning supplies are available and families are encouraged to follow health guidance form state, local, and county agencies.

Face coverings are welcome for those who wish to wear them.
