Surprise road closures clustered on Waddell

The current road work in Surprise is:
• Where: Laurel Lane — Litchfield Road to Rivera Drive.
• When: Through Wednesday, April 1.
• What: Laurel Lane will be closed between Litchfield and Rivera for road improvements and is scheduled to reopen by the end of day April 1.
• Where: Sarival Avenue — Waddell Road to Alexandria Way.
• When: Through Monday, April 20.
• What: Lanes widened to four.
• Where: Litchfield Road — Waddell Road to north of Peoria Avenue.
• When: Through Thursday, April 30.
• What: Widening to four travel lanes. In addition to more travel lanes, the project includes drainage infrastructure, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, street lighting and landscaping.
• Where: Waddell Road — Reems Road to Loop 303.
• When: Through June 20, 2020.
• What: Widening Waddell to six travel lanes. Signal at Sarival Ave and Waddell Road. In addition to more travel lanes, the project includes drainage infrastructure, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, street lighting and landscaping. During the project, drivers can expect intermittent and full closures, lane restrictions and reduced speed limits.
Planned road work in Surprise:
• Where: Greenway Road — Sarival Avenue to Cotton Lane.
• When: Aug. 10 through Jan. 29, 2021.
• What: Widening to four travel lanes and the addition of a traffic signal at Greenway Road and Northwest Ranch Parkway. This project also includes provisions for drainage, sidewalks, bicycle lane, street lighting, landscaping and turn lanes.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained during the road improvement projects. Motorists are reminded to be mindful of detours and plan for additional commute time during the road closures.
