The Luke Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America is a West Valley-based organization of more than 200 retired and former military officers and their spouses, from the eight United States uniformed services.

Luke Chapter is dedicated to fostering goodwill and camaraderie among their members, and also devotes substantial effort and funds to support needy veterans and active duty members and their families.

A major charitable effort of the Luke Chapter Scholarship Fund in 2022 was to award a total of 18 scholarships, totaling $35,000, in support of higher education of eligible students.

Eight scholarships were awarded to outstanding high school seniors and ten to college students who were previously awarded scholarships from the Luke Chapter. The scholarships ranged from $1,000 to $4,000.

Winners were selected based on scholastic achievement, leadership, volunteer service, moral character, and acceptance at an accredited college or university.

Major business donors include: Liberty Automotive Group, LaNelle B Robson Foundation-Robson Communities, Rodney Jackson Real Estate, American Legion Post 101, Mahoney Law Firm, The Colonnade in Surprise, Burger King-Barnett Industries, Dr. Leslie and Mrs. Hazel Davis-Dentistry, Osborne Jewelers, Sonoran Technology, USAA, West Valley Bank and Legacy Financial Advisors.

• Everett Hines was home schooled. He is attending Texas A&M University in the fall where he will major in history. After graduation he plans to pursue a military career in the Army. He was awarded $4,000.
