Luke Brown was honored by Estrella Chapter, NSDAR, as Dysart High School Outstanding Senior JROTC cadet this year.

Regent Nancy Nixon assisted National Defense Chair Marsha Hanson in presenting Luke with the NSDAR certificate and medal and a chapter cash award April 20. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Dysart High School JROTC awards night event was cancelled and the presentation took place in the high school’s office lobby.

Luke said he became interested in the JROTC following a military presentation. He has enlisted in the US Marine Corp and will be leaving for duty in July.

The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution has created and made available to all NSDAR chapters special JROTC certificates and medals as part of their mission to promote education. To receive the awards, the cadet must meet certain criteria established by the NSDAR.
