Letters: Too many ignore requests to wear masks

Posted

My wife and I went to a restaurant in Surprise for dinner yesterday.

Sign on the door read “PLEASE WEAR A MASK.”

About halfway through the meal I noticed that none of the four employees (including the manager) were wearing masks properly.

The lady taking the orders had a mask covering her mouth but not her nose, and the mask kept sliding down exposing her mouth as she was talking with customers.

The two men in back of the counter had their masks around their neck. And the manager had no mask at all.

Then there was the person who came in after a takeaway order who had no mask.

I am really upset with myself because after observing social distancing and wearing a mask for eight months I did not notice these COVID spreaders until it was too late.

The food tasted good, but I will not return to that restaurant, and I will certainly be more observant in other environments.

Be aware that even in the midst of a pandemic there are people who just do not care about others.
