Letters: Mayor details importance of local schools

Posted

We recognize the key role that quality schools play in attracting businesses and economic opportunities to our area. We need good schools to train the quality, competitive workforce for companies to hire to support our area’s long-term success.

In addition, schools play a key role in attracting investment and appealing to those who want to grow or relocate their businesses. Businesses are not going to want to invest in an area that is laying off teachers, increasing class sizes, and cutting programs.

We need to invest in our school systems to preserve our quality of life. Quality schools protect our property values, reduce crime, and attract additional investment. To do all this without raising our taxes is a win/win for all of us. Please join me in supporting quality education by voting “yes” for continuation of the Dysart override.

Editor’s Note: Mr. Hall is the mayor of Surprise.
