Letters: Duffy is showing hypocrisy with his election signs

Posted

The city of Surprise told my sister to take down her sign for her business because the one sign violated the city’s new revamped sign code.

Councilman [Patrick] Duffy voted for that new revamped code and even said that he believed the sign code was fair for businesses. Well, that’s interesting considering he’s littered all the streets around my neighborhood with dozens of his campaign signs.

Campaign signs are already irritating, but that many fall on the side of ridiculous. If he thinks the sign code is so “fair,” then maybe he shouldn’t be able to use signs for his election.

Not only is he hypocritical, but he clearly isn’t business-friendly. You’d also think a city council person would know it’s illegal to put signs in the median, but I guess the rules don’t apply to Councilman Duffy. Typical politician.

And don’t forget, last time around those signs said, “Endorsed by Fire and Police.”

Don’t let it be lost on anyone this election that he had to cut that part of his signs off the top. So either he used and manipulated fire and police last time around just to get elected and thinks he’s too good for them now, or they simply wanted nothing to do with him.

Personally, I think it’s the latter.
