Letters: Costco-area growth takes from city center

Surprised and a bit concerned to read about the growth which is happening around the new Costco location off the 303 (“Costco creating nearby growth,” Feb. 17).

How will this impact the projected growth at the City Center? Looks to me like we are starting to create an alternative city center development on our outskirts which will be devoid of some of the characteristics we have been planning for the long-anticipated City Center development: mixed use, walkable, sense of place, etc.

How can we reinvigorate interest in our City Center development in light of the Costco-related developments?

Or is it “game over?”
