Letters: Children are at stake with override vote

Posted

I serve on the El Mirage City Council because I want what is best for our children and our neighborhoods.

One fundamentally important thing I have learned in public service is that a strong and sustainable economy begins and ends with good schools.

Like many districts in the State, the Dysart Unified School District has some serious catching up to do. Our schools are still woefully behind the curve from the recession-era cuts that have not been restored, but our children are using outdated technology and textbooks, and we absolutely must make every campus more safe and secure.

Approving Dysart’s override will go a long way to provide the tools and security our children need to succeed. Their skills and talent are what will drive our economy and what will continue to attract employers and growth to the West Valley.

This election is critically important to children and our economy. Please support our children and teachers by voting to approve the Dysart override.
