The AZ Swing Kings Big Band, featuring vocalist Katie Iverson, perform 5 p.m. Friday, March 13 at Birt’s Bistro, 16752 N. Greasewood St., Surprise.
The AZ Swing Kings Big Band is a group of 19 musicians, who are all professionally experienced performers of the big band swing/jazz style of music. The concert, entitled “The Great American Songbook,” features important and influential American popular songs of the 20th century, principally from Broadway, musical theater and Hollywood musical film. These famous songs are from the 1930s through the 1960s, and include dozens of popular songs.
