Ground Floor unveils '4x4 Project' in Surprise

Posted

Surprise-based Ground Floor Artist, 13343 W. Foxfire Drive, Unit 3, is launching its new “4x4 Project.”

Beautiful 4-inch by 4-inch original artworks are being donated by Ground Floor Artists members for sale at just $15 each. All proceeds are dedicated to keeping art alive in Surprise.

Residents can display these pieces in groups or individually — hung vertically or horizontally.

For those who can help, GFA is asking members to paint, pour, use mixed media, make clay tiles, etc., on 4x4 wood cradle boards, or stretched canvas. All work needs to be original.

The 4x4 Project artwork is hung by the front desk. It is a fun and affordable way for everyone to collect original art and for Ground Floor artists to share their talents. Come in and view the collection or start a new addition.

New pieces are added weekly. The 4x4 Project will continue throughout GFA’s 2021-22 season.

Ground Floor Artists is observing summer vacation hours starting this month. GFA will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Follow its Instagram and Facebook accounts to see what GFA artists are doing on their summer vacations.

Ground Floor Artists will continue to have art classes available throughout the summer months and have programs starting in September. Check out  groundfloorartists.com to register for classes and upcoming events.

In August, the Peoria Fine Art Association will be displaying their members artwork in the gallery with a free, public reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7.

Ground Floor Artists regular hours resume again in August with the usual 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays.
