Grateful Hearts arrive for firefighters
Sun City Grand Club makes, donates coasters

On behalf of Fire Stations 302 and 306, Surprise Fire-Medical Battalion Chief Wade Rogers recently accepted “Thirsty Heart Coasters,” a project of the grateful hearts imitative of the Sun City Grand Clay Arts Club.
Club artists Jan Nolan and Sharon Rothzeid, along with Surprise City Councilwoman Nancy Hayden, joined Mr. Rogers and first responders in the presentation of the blue and white clay coasters.
It was inspired by Jan Nolan, a club member who was an administrator on the 911 Call Lines and whose husband was a fireman in Washington.
Grand Clay Arts members used their creativity to acknowledge those on the front lines. In the past, they acknowledged the nurses and staff at Banner/Del Webb.
The coasters were made by club members who quarantined during this pandemic. They were created and given in in appreciation of the daily dedication of our local first responders.
