Free live, interactive workshop helps seniors stay independent

Benevilla event takes place May 14

Benevilla’s free interactive workshops for seniors and those caring for loved ones who are older continues with “Independent at Home” 1:30-3 p.m. Thursday, May 14.

The senior population is the most vulnerable right now to coronavirus, and it is important that seniors practice self-isolation and stay-at-home during the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to mitigate the risk of public exposure, Benevilla, at 16752 N. Greasewood St., Surprise, has chosen to revamp its education workshops into live stream video events.

The first event will explore how to keep a loved one independent at home and what resources are available. The live tele-conference on May 14 will be hosted by experts from ComForCare Home Care and NeighborCare.

Benevilla will use the Zoom audio/video conference platform to host the live presentations. Speakers are carefully selected professionals available to answer questions and provide guidance and resources needed to prepare for senior life changes.

Upcoming online workshops available through Benevilla will cover a range of important topics from in-home care management and hospice to estate preparation and tax savings tips.

Reservations required. Call Benevilla at 623-584-4999 to reserve a spot, and be ready to provide a working email address.
