Entertainment to fill Fiesta Grande stage in Surprise

The Surprise Fiesta Grande street festival is happening from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, from in the Original Town Site on Hollyhock Street near Grand Avenue and Greenway Road.

This family-friendly event celebrates the city’s unique history, culture, traditions and community.

Admission and parking are free, so join the city for a fun evening of live music, food, dancing, classic cars and more.

The Surprise Fiesta Grande entertainment lineup will include live musical performances on the main stage:

  • 5 to 6 p.m. Tradiciones Dance Company
  • 6 to 6:15 p.m. Mayor’s Welcome
  • 6:15 to 7 p.m. Grupo Caribe
  • 7:15 to 8 p.m. Banda La Exepcional
  • 8:15 to 9 p.m. Las Calakas

Roaming entertainment from Mariachi Mexico Nuevo will be provided from 5 to 7 p.m.

The schedule is subject to change.
Other attractions and activities include a classic car show, food trucks, festive beverages, free kids’ play zone, piñata plaza and a vendor village organized by local contributing organizations and sponsors.

Free shuttle service and parking can be found at the Rio Salado Lifelong Learning Center, 12535 W. Smokey Drive, and AZ TechCelerator, 12425 W. Bell Road. Shuttle service will run from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Free parking for the event is located off Nash Street and Rimrock Street. ADA parking is located on Hollyhock Street in front of the senior center.

There is still time to enter the car show or secure a vendor booth. Applications are available online.
