Adult classes pack Surprise studio in June

Classes continue at Ground Floor Artists, 13343 W. Foxfire Drive Suite 3.

Adult classes in the month of June include:

• Adult Drawing Classes for beginners age 16 and up will have a series of sessions from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Those interested are asked to register at artwithcarree.com. Do not register on the Ground Floor website.

Class will be held at Ground Floor Artists. Learn drawing/sketching basics,get to know and understand values, study the many techniques of drawing.

Upcoming classes include:

• Thursday, June 9 “All Tied-up” $35

• Thursday June 23 and 30 “On the Shore” (two-part class) $60 for both classes (shading, perspective & oceanscape).

A final class is planned Thursday, July 14.

• Painting with Encaustic is from noon until 4 p.m. Sunday, June 12.

This class is $115, which includes all supplies.
Encaustic in Latin means “to burn in” and is the process of painting with beeswax, with and without pigment, that is melted and fused to a hard surface.

This ancient art form is seeing a resurgence of appeal because of its unique look, texture, compatibility with other mediums, and for use with mixed media. In this hands-on class, participants will discover what tools will get you started and learn the basic techniques to explore this diverse medium.

Cynthia Dunn-Selph is a life-long photographer, painter, and mixed media artist who has exhibited and taught in California and Arizona. Her work can be seen on her website alldunnart.com.

• Impressionism Acrylic Painting Class with CARee is monthly and suitable for age 16 and up.

This month’s class is from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 16 and is titled “Orange Slice of Life.”

Cost is $40 and all supplies are included. Enjoy a loose acrylic painting class in a comfortable atmosphere.
Perfect for beginners, and challenging enough for experienced acrylic painters who want to have fun.

This class focuses on a specific style of “Loose” Acrylic Painting on canvas. Each class you will be able to complete a piece of art on canvas to take home with you along with a few more learned techniques.
