A Peoria resident will be the principal speaker at the American Association of University Women (AAUW) upcoming general meeting.

The meeting will take place virtually via the Zoom platform, as well as to a small in-person group at the Sun City West Foundation, 14465 W. R.H. Johnson Blvd., at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19.

The speaker, Jewel Ray Chaudhuri, Ph.D. through her company Revisioning My Life, helps professional women struggling with boredom, burnout and a loss of meaning in life to use their inner power to create lives of freedom, meaning and joy; in essence to create lives they love on their own terms.

She spent more 25 years at New York Life, working in both the Group Insurance Department as an underwriter and in Management Development and Training. She completed her Ph.D. and wrote her dissertation on female executives and their experiences of power.

After completing her Ph.D., she then went on to coach training and is trained as an ontological coach, working with body posture, emotion and language to bring about transformational change in a person’s life. Her specialty is women’s empowerment and self-mastery.

Ms. Chaudhuri is also a jewelry artist and lives with her husband in Peoria, and spends part of the year in India.
