Sun Health Foundation’s Nov. 7 Heroes with Heart Virtual Gala was an evening to remember.

From home or at socially distanced watch parties, more that 250 people joined the celebration of superior health care, heroes and the people they’ve impacted. Almost $115,000 was raised to benefit the Emergency Department transformation at Banner Boswell Medical Center, 10401 W. Thunderbird Blvd., Sun City.

The gala commemorated the 50th Anniversary of Banner Boswell, which is a special part of Sun Health’s rich history. The focal point of the evening was to honor Hero with Heart honoree Rajeev S. Kathuria, M.D., cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon; and Hero with Heart Corporate honoree Vituity for their contributions to superior health care.

In addition to the award presentations, the evening included moving testimonials from grateful patients, the festive music of Thaddeus Rose Band and a toast to superior health care.

Watch parties took place at Sun Health’s Grandview Terrace, 14515 W. Granite Valley Drive, Sun City West; Sun Health’s The Colonnade, 19116 N. Colonnade Way, Surprise; and Briarwood Country Club, 20800 N. 135th Ave., in Sun City West. Guests dressed up, enjoyed a three-course dinner and some even took to their feet to dance.

Although the gala has past, there are still opportunities to support superior health care with a donation through the Generosity for Generations campaign.
