Sun City Grand dance club goes on island trip

The Sun City Grand Dance Club will host a special August luau and ballroom dance and the group is heading to the land of grass skirts, pineapples and Hawaiian drums.

The dance will be from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Sonoran Plaza, 19753 N. Remington Drive, Surprise. The doors will open at 6 and the night will feature a cash bar at 6:30.

In addition, the dance club will have a 40-minute rumba lesson prior to the dance that starts at 6:15 and ends at 6:55. The cost of the lesson is included in the ticket price ($10) and will be taught by Csaba Vadasz, who taught at Sun City Grand in June and July.

Setting the mood will be The Breeze Band which will play favorite waltzes, foxtrots, swing and rhythm dances. Dressing to fit the Hawaiian/Polynesian theme is optional but no jeans, shorts or flip flops.

Tickets are available at a special summer price ($10) may be purchased online at www.suncitygrand.com or at the Sun City Grand activities desk or at the door.
