Sun City author publishes two new books of Christian poetry

Sun City resident Dr. Lydia A. Woods released two new books of Christian poetry in paperback and e-book format: “Those Bible Women” and “Those Bible Characters.”
Dr. Woods has previously published seven books of Christian poetry entitled “Poems by Revelation,” “For the Edification of the Saints,” “Food for Saints,” “Let Those with Ears,” “Conversations with the Saints,” “All the Saints Agree” and “Acceptance with Joy,” a compilation of her first five books. These books are also available in e-book format.
These collections of Christian poetry books are described as inspired by God for the edification and encouragement of Christians. The books cover a range of topics as the author challenges believers in Christ to greater faithfulness in their Christian walk. Poems include topics on biblical teachings, spiritual formation, spiritual warfare, stories of bible characters as well as numerous teachings of God’s grace, mercy, goodness and love.
Dr. Woods’ new releases “Those Bible Women (36 amazing women) and Those Bible Characters (53 memorable men)” bring to life the stories of historical biblical figures. These women and men embody a feminine and masculine portrait gallery in scriptural history. Featured in these books are faith-filled saints, harlots and scoundrels, mothers and wives, devoted fathers and husbands, queens and kings, dutiful sisters and brothers, friends and foes. The canonical stories are flavored with the color of poetic style yet written in the simple language of rhyming poetry.
Dr. Woods is a theologian, bible scholar, minister inspirational speaker and retired college professor. She began writing Christian poetry in 1989 and published her first collection of poems, “Poems by Revelation,” in 1995. She has since published 12 Christian poetry books and written more than 400 poems. These books are available at amazon.com.
