Rip ’N’ Sew Club shares refreshed clubhouse
Posted
The Rip ’N’ Sew Club invites residents to tour its refreshed and refaced rooms. Members of the Sun City West club recently cut the ribbon marking the grand re-opening.
Gone are the wooden cupboards’ dark brown color, the fluorescent lights, the eight-year-old paint, three dark oak bookcases and a dirty carpet.
In their place are light gray refaced cupboards, LED lights, fresh paint, a 360-degree mirror hidden once behind the bookcases in the main room and a clean carpet.
“Our club has been around for 40 years and we really needed an update,” said co-president Debbie Dorn. She attended board meetings of all the committees needed to approve the work. “It’s been a dream come true. It’s been very exciting,” Dorn said.
Rip ’N’ Sew is open for tours during monitored hours 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday and varied hours on Sunday. The club is closed when no monitor is available.
