Sun City West resident celebrates 100 years

Fern Elizabeth Stauffer is celebrating her 100th birthday Aug. 18.

Stauffer was born in 1922 and married Farnwell “Bud” Stauffer in 1945. They were married 71 years when he passed away at 92 years old.

Stauffer lives in Sun City West and enjoys working on puzzles and playing Mahjong. Her key to longevity is a small glass of port every night and a great sense of humor.

She was an avid golfer and swimmer for many years and on occasion will still swing a golf club.
