Officials said a power surge severly damaged phone service for the Recreation Centers of Sun City West office and golf courses Thursday and Friday.

Residents needing to contact any of the rec center staff members, were asked to do so by visiting in person or contacting them through email.

A vendor was on site Friday replacing the damaged equipment, and it is hoped the phones will be back up and running sometime Friday afternoon.
