Responsibility for palm tree trimming in Sun City West areas within roadway rights-of-way remained uncertain.

Erika Flores, Maricopa County Department of Transportation communications branch manager, said department officials do not have an updated agreement on the trimming and shaving of the palms trees in medians at this time.

“While we have worked on this schedule with the Recreation Centers of Sun City West officials both formally and informally for years, we are looking for more opportunities to partner with them, and as that develops, we will have more information,” she explained.
