Mac-Cro-Knit Club plans busy season

The Mac-Cro-Knit Club is again gathering toys for the annual Christmas bag donation project. Special bags in Christmas colors are being knitted or crocheted by club members. They will be filled with toys and other items to provide cheer for homeless families during the holidays. Last year, the club filled and donated 100 bags.

The club’s annual Christmas luncheon will be in early December at Tivoli Gardens and the club has also accepted an invitation from the R.H. Johnson Library to display a selection of charity and personal items made by members during November. Helen Hobold, Marylee Van Daele and Deb Palen will be in charge of the display.

The club also reminds members to renew their membership and pay annual dues of $5 for 2023. There is an additional one-time charge for new members, for a club badge, which must be worn at club functions. Members are expected to monitor a workshop once a year.

A general business meeting is 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, with numerous committee reports. President Janet Lennon will preside.

Workshops are twice a week, 8-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. “How to” lessons are available when requested. Each workshop features a “show and tell’ session so members can see completed projects and discuss the skills and patterns involved. Workshops are in Room 3/Pueblo Room of the Kuentz center. Guests are welcome.
