Thank you for your recent article (“Recycle bins taken away,” Sun City West Independent, May 13, 2020) regarding the removal of large recycle bins behind Safeway.
I believe your writer and the Parks & Sons company have missed one very important point. Many of us brought our overflow recycling to that location because two Wednesdays per month is simply not enough. My neighbor from California and my family (originally from Illinois) are dedicated recylers and were used to recycling being picked up every week with our regular garbage pick up.
When I moved here last year, I called Parks & Sons and asked why pick up could not be more frequent. They told me residents here were polled 10-15 years ago and voted that down. As we have all become more conscious of the effects of plastics, and trash in general, on the environment, one has to think perhaps they should ask our opinion again.
