Willowbrook United Methodist Church, 19390 N. 99th Ave., is home to the Kris Krafters, a group that gathers in the church fellowship hall to sew, knit, crochet, quilt or craft items they eventually donate to local charity groups.
During the shutdown, many of the members continued to work on projects at home in preparation of the day they could once again share them.
They have blessed numerous organizations with children’s clothing, layettes, lap robes/quilts, walker bags, cancer hats, kitchen accessories, Christmas linens and more. There are a few people who crochet six-foot long mats from strips of plastic grocery bags. These mats are donated to Justa Center and the Four Corners Navajo Nation.
They welcome new people into their group. Stop by the church 9-11 a.m. the first or third Thursday of the month.
