With last year’s drive being so successful, Recreation Centers of Sun City West officials are once again planning to collect cards to ensure our neighbors in local care facilities and hospitals aren’t forgotten during the holidays.

The Holiday Card Drive will run from 8 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, to noon on Friday, Dec. 9. To donate a card, simply write a kind, cheerful message on the inside of a holiday card. Include a festive greeting on the envelope. Do not seal it. Beginning Dec. 1, there will be collection sites available at all four recreation centers and the R.H. Johnson Library. Cards should be dropped off before noon Dec. 9. Although blank cards may be dropped off, the preference is to have the cards filled out with a handwritten message. After all the cards are collected, Rec Centers staff will separate to ensure there is enough for each facility.

The locations whose residents will be the recipients of your kindness are: Brookdale, Solstice, Grandview Care Center, Avista, Sun City West Assisted Living, and Heritage Legacy. Both Del E. Webb and Boswell hospitals also will receive cards.
