Discover what happens behind the scenes as filmmakers Bryan Smith and Keith Ladzinski reveal how they capture extreme feats of adventure in some of the world’s most remote and inhospitable environments.

Join the Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts for its next virtual National Geographic Live event, “Feats of Filmmaking,” 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 16 and to learn more about this frequently dangerous style of cinematography.

With a knack for storytelling, an ability to get cameras into difficult locations, and an insane work ethic, Bryan Smith has received acclaim for his kayaking footage and exploration of river-based energy production. Based out of British Columbia, Mr. Smith brings stories of adventure to the screen from the South Pacific’s deepest canyons to the frozen waters of Niagara Falls.

Fusing a love of skateboarding in New York City with an exploration of Colorado’s quiet mountains, Keith Ladzinski’s work focuses on natural history, climate change and extreme sports. Mr. Ladzinski takes on the seemingly impossible — including chasing tornadoes, hanging from massive natural arches and swimming with alligators — to document the endeavors of the world’s most elite adventurers.

The 60-minute virtual event will include short videos narrated by Mr. Smith and Mr. Ladzinski and a live, moderated conversation about the challenges they face and their most recent experiences. There will also be opportunities for audience questions and answers.
