Corte Bella Vets announce second annual charity gala

Posted

In March 2014, the Corte Bella Vets organization was founded by two residents who served in the United States armed forces. Their membership began with 25 veterans and has grown to more 240 members from all components of the U.S. uniformed services, Corte Bella residents who served with U.S. allies and non-veteran resident volunteers who want to foster patriotism and good will toward America’s veterans.

The Corte Bella Vets are hosting a dinner/dance charity gala Friday, Nov. 11, at Briarwood Country Club, 20800 N. 135th Ave. The gala will begin at 5 p.m. with doors open for check-in. Two no-host bars (credit card payment only) will also begin at 5 p.m. and a program starts at 5:45 p.m. and dinner follows at 6 p.m.

Tickets may only be purchased from a Corte Bella Vets member/volunteer, beginning Oct. 1, in front of the Corte Bella Health Club/Spa. Tickets are $75 and a portion of the ticket price will be tax deductible as a charitable donation (checks or cash only). Tickets will include a three-course plated dinner: rolls and butter, chef salad, petite filet/salmon, potatoes, vegetables, desert, coffee, tea, water and a champagne toast.

Dancing will follow with music being provided by Corte Bella’s DJ Keith Fowler (Sound Designs). In addition, 50/50 tickets will be sold: $10 each or three for $25 and wine-pull tickets for $25 each (wine pull tickets will only be sold at the gala - check or cash only).

For additional information regarding ticket sales call Bev Brown, fundraising director, at 623-544-7177 or email babrown122@msn.com.

The Corte Bella Vets, in conjunction with the Sundome Merchants Association (located at R.H. Johnson and Camino Del Sol in Sun City West), will also be collecting Christmas gifts for veterans. As in the past, “Angel Trees” will be placed in front of several merchants located at the Sundome Plaza. Each tree will be filled with individual gift tags. All one needs to do is pick up a tag and simply follow the instructions regarding drop off locations.

Angel trees/gift tags will be available Nov. 1–Dec. 15. Gifts will be separated and delivered by the Corte Bella Vets to the Veteran’s Administration hospitals/living centers in Phoenix and Prescott, and several transition homes for veterans within the greater Phoenix area. These homes include Mary Ellen’s Place/Veterans First; Catholic Charities MANA House (Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force); and U.S. Vets.
