Broadcast Club/KSCW 103.1 FM Radio gives to local organizations for the holidays

Posted

After a vote by the board of directors, the Sun City West Broadcast Club/KSCW 103.1 FM radio station decided to make a contribution to two local community organizations. Eve’s Place and The Community Fund of Sun City West each received checks for $1,000. This was possible through the generous underwriters in the area who support the club and radio station.

The mission of Eve’s Place is supporting any victim of domestic, sexual and teen dating abuse. Eve’s Place is a leader in Arizona in developing and maintaining innovative programs that provide needed assistance to victims of domestic abuse.

“We are thrilled to receive the donation to ensure that gifts reach all the individuals on our Holiday Program list,” stated Laura Horsley, CEO of Eve’s Place. “The holidays are a tough time for many victims of domestic, sexual and teen dating abuse and this donation shows them that they are not alone.”

The mission of the Community Fund of Sun City West is to provide a confidential financial safety net for Sun City West residents who have difficulties paying their utility, rent, medical and other bills. Over the last four years, the Community Fund has facilitated “Neighbors helping Neighbors” in Sun City West.

“With the financial challenges these organizations faced this year, this is a much needed way that we can support these organization’s community efforts, especially during the Holidays”, stated Joel Piaskowski, director of underwriting for KSCW.

Mark Johnson, president of the Broadcast Club, added that the club’s board of directors, members and area businesses are an integral part of the Sun City West community and “created the perfect synergy to show Eve’s Place and The Community Fund of Sun City West what they mean to the community.”
