Posted
Benevilla will once again provide free holiday meals this year to those who lack access or means to prepare a nutritious dinner or may be alone during these holiday times.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no dine-in meals this year. Instead, these freshly prepared dinners will be available for pickup on two different days at Birt’s Bistro on the Benevilla campus.
The complimentary meals are available by RSVP to 623-584-4999. Meals are limited.
A Thanksgiving meal will be ready for pickup Wednesday, Nov. 25 during a pre-selected hours between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
A Christmas day meal will be available for pickup Thursday, Dec. 24 between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
When reserving a meal, choose either Thanksgiving or Christmas to help assure availability for other community members in need.
The traditional turkey dinners, all the trimmings and pumpkin pie will be served by volunteers and staff at Birt’s Bistro located on the Hellen & John M. Jacobs Independence Plaza at 16752 N. Greasewood St. An anonymous donor made this complimentary holiday meal available to those in need in the community.
Call early, as availability is limited.
“It is always a great feeling to help serve our community in need, especially during the holidays and the challenging pandemic we are in,” said Joanne Thomson, Benevilla resident and CEO. “Every year it warms our hearts seeing the difference we are making in the lives of others.”
Started by the community and for the community in 1981, Benevilla is a non-profit family services agency dedicated to enriching the lives of West Valley residents by providing care services for older adults, adults with disabilities, children and families.
