Cyber security is focus of new business

Edward Anderson is a late bloomer when it comes to owning and operating a technology business, but he is no stranger to the computer world.

While he has no formal training in the field, he does have an extensive amount of experience dealing with computers. Growing up he was always fascinated with technology.

I built my first water cooled computer at the age of 13, and as I got older, friends and family would come to me for help with their computer problems,” he explained.

Over the years Anderson built and fixed countless computers, but he never wanted to do it professionally until recently.

There has been a dramatic increase in cyber-crime against seniors throughout the last few years, and I am inspired to do what I can to help protect them from these threats,” he stated in an email.

Enter Arrowhead Computer Guru.

The business will provide seniors with solutions to their computer and technology-related issues, along with the training needed to stay safe online and get the most out of their technology. Services offered will include free consultations; thorough system diagnosis; virus, spyware and malware removal; ad-blocking and privacy protection; web security; operating system and driver updates; software clean up; data migration services; data recovery services; password recovery or removal; desktop and laptop hardware upgrades; smart device installation and support; wireless and wired network support; network upgrades; video conference setup and support; streaming service setup and support; email setup and support; custom computer builds; and private tech tutoring sessions.

Arrowhead Computer Guru is a mobile service, traveling to clients’ homes or businesses. The service is available 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday-Thursday. Anderson works as an optician Fridays and Saturdays.

My journey into the world of technology started at a young age, when my mom walked in on me dismantling our first family computer,” Anderson stated.

Anderson’s original career path was in electrical engineerings. But it first evolved to software development then to cyber security.

His grandfather provided a strong influence on his life following the death of his father. His grandfather was a 20-year U.S. Air Force veteran, following which he served 20 years as a dispatcher for the Phoenix Fire Department. While his grandfather was ill, Anderson earned a national emergency medical technician certificate.

My grandfather always treated people with respect and honored his word,” Anderson stated. “As my grandfather battled Alzheimer’s and bone cancer in his last decade of life, I had the privilege of caring for him. I will always remember him as my hero.”

That experience gave Anderson a newfound respect for his grandfather’s generation and the values practiced during that period in history. It gave him the inspiration to direct his technology business to senior citizens.

I believe the respectable values of my grandfather’s generation have been lost in today’s culture, and my business is a means to reconnect with one of the greatest generations this nation has seen.” Anderson stated.

As the influence of technology expands, the sophisticated cyber-threat landscape evolves, Anderson added.

With my background in technology, I aim to protect the community from such threats through affordable computer services with an emphasis on end-user training.” he explained.
