The Arizona Fire & Medical Authority adopted the 2020-21 fiscal annual budget June 23.

Per a press release from the Authority dated July 6, the budget continues to promote collaborative strength and local commitment. The annual budget amount of $30.5 million provides funding to ensure the security of all fire and medical services the Authority provides.

Deputy Chief Eric Kriwer said the Authority coordinated the budget keeping in mind the impact of the economy as the organization deals with the pandemic.

Board Member Diane Price said, “As an elected board member, it is our collective responsibility to present a balanced budget for the fiscal year. We take this responsibility very seriously. The 2020/21 budget is a collaboration of various groups including board members, Authority staff and community residents. We are pleased to submit a balanced budget that maintains the highest quality emergency services, fiscal responsibility and a conservative optimism for the future ahead”.
