Four apply for fire board seat

Posted

Four residents have applied for the vacant position on the North County Fire & Medical Authority governing board.

The vacancy was created by the death of Dick Cherry, board member.

Richard Ciesla, Merrell Sambol, Aaron McMurdie and James Young filed the necessary paperwork, according to Dusty Christopherson, Arizona Fire & Medical Authority clerk.

Mr. Ciesla and Mr. Sambol also applied in April when there was a previous opening due a resignation. At that time board members chose Richard Bookie to fill the position.

The candidates will be interviewed by the remaining board members on Dec. 10, and the board will vote on a replacement at its next meeting, 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, at the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Auditorium, 205 W. Jefferson St., Phoenix.
