Welsher: Residents should not feed wildlife in Sun City

Posted

It would be a wonderful idea and huge help to some of us in Sun City to (loudly, forcefully) remind residents not to feed the wild animals.

We now have a pack of three javelinas trying to make a home in our backyards. Those of us without fences are at the mercy of these very smelly animals. This neighborhood area is not a natural habitat for javelinas.

We chase them away but they keep returning, which is a sure sign someone in the area is feeding them. Furthermore, they can damage any exposed landscape irrigation parts looking for water. That’s already happened at my house.

We are in the area of 99th Avenue and Union Hills Drive.
