Safety tape available for steps in Sun Cities

One of the daily obstacles for local residents is the step in the garage.

This well-known tripping hazard has taken its toll on local residents with accidents ranging from sprained ankles and wrists to broken hips. Low lighting in the garages, along with finishes on the floor, make this step virtually disappear.

True Value, 15400 N. 99th Ave., Sun City and 13599 W. Camino del Sol, Sun City West, local Realtor Rick Nichols of HomeSmart Realty along with Handyman Now, 12915 W. Flagstone Drive, Sun City West are sponsoring a safety event by covering the cost of black and yellow hazard tape and adhering the tape to residents’ step in the garage, to clearly delineate that hazard.

The True value stores will be scheduling appointments. Sun City and Sun City West residents can now sign up in person at their local stores. This free 1-day event will take place Saturday, Sept. 24, for persons signed up before that date.

True Value is providing sign-up at the register and the tape at cost, Nichols is purchasing the tape and Handyman Now will provide free installation to those registered with True Value. Sign up in person only.

Handyman Now will also replace the in-house air filter for the HVAC system if there is a new one at the home. Installation of the safety tape and the changing of the air filter is free for those signed up in person at either True Value store. Limited appointments are available for this event.
