Ralph Edward Black, “REB”, 92, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2022 in Glendale, AZ. Born June 4, 1930 in Chicago, IL, Ralph wrestled and played football at Beloit College, WI and the University of Washington, graduating in 1956 with a Master’s in Geography. While stationed in Bordeaux, France, with Army Intelligence, he met his wife, Mariette. Ralph worked for Chevron in Switzerland and California for twenty-six years. After his retirement, he trained for triathlons, completing Ironman Canada in 1995. In 2013, Ralph moved to Sun City, AZ, where, in his eighties, he was active swimming, fitness training, dancing and making friends at Bell Recreation Center. In 2017, he was delighted to be chosen to dance the mambo in Sun City’s Dancing with the Stars.
