The Sun City Players Community Theater held auditions Sept. 8 for their fall 2021 presentation of “Suite Surrender,” a comedy/farce by playwright Michael McKeever.
A record number of club members — 24 — attended the afternoon and evening audition sessions, including a significant number of new members.
“We were hoping for a good turnout, but this was outstanding,” Director Dan See remarked.
The theater management believes it is a reflection not only of new residents discovering live theater in Sun City, but also the enthusiasm to get back on stage and create characters and stories that audiences have come to appreciate and enjoy.
Those chosen for the ensemble cast of “Suite Surrender” are: Tom Swenson (Otis), Norman Krinsky (Francis), Jim McConnell (Mr. Dunlap), Pat Cook (Mrs. Osgood), Annette See (Dora Del Rio), JudyAnn Wolters (Claudia McFadden), Don Schordje (Mr. Pippet), Nancy Larsen Chapin (Athena Sinclair) and Jo Johnson (Murphy).
On Sept. 10, the cast assembled for the first read-through of the script with Director Dan See. Regular rehearsals began the week of Sept. 13.
The show will run Nov. 12-21. All performances will be at Mountain View Recreation Center, 9749 N. 107th Ave. Tickets for the season of three different shows are available at suncityplayerscommunitytheater.org.
