Three members of the Sun City National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Agua Fria Chapter — Mary Hart, Patsy Sheeder Silvey and Honorary Chapter Regent Shirley Sheeder Staggs — attended the annual Arizona Spring Mayflower Society luncheon meeting April 24.

New officers were elected to fill opening positions and the guest speaker was Matthew K. Scott, who is a past president of the Arizona NSSAR Palo Verde Chapter, SAR Color Guard Commander 2015-17 and Associate Member of the Society of The Honor Guard Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. His presentation was on “Selection and Burial of the First Unknown Soldier in Arlington Cemetery.”

Scott showed 1921 pictures photographed and documented by his grandfather, which depicted details of the ceremony in France and the burial in Arlington in November, 1921.
