Johnson: Armed security, fitness items bad ideas in Sun City
Posted
Kudos and respect to Cindy Brown for stirring the waters (“Armed security not the answer for Sun City,” Sun City Independent, May 11, 2022).
We need reformers such as Cindy on a range of issues. She rightly pointed out the absurdities of this one.
Here’s another piffle that appeared in the newspaper (“Fitness equipment trial approved,” Sun City Independent, May 11, 2022), the exploration to purchase elliptical cycles, recombinant bikes, treadmills and, I might add, more needless technology gadgetry with “access to the Internet while working out.” Are you serious?
In the rejecting words of Cindy Brown, “Really? What’s wrong with you people?” Thirty-minute limit on the machines. If one is serious about working out, who has the time, or the savvy? And using the case that “some people are going out of Sun City to use other fitness facilities,” is empty of meaning.
However, if you pursue this absurdity on that premise, or any other notion, remember humanoids are designed to never have enough and will always want more.
